The data presented by the International Labour Organisation, have an alarming situation in Europe regarding the presence of persons under a regime of slavery within the territory of the old continent. Would, in fact, almost one million people, the majority of female workers excluded from all rights and subjected to conditions of life terms. The two major categories of sexual exploitation, with approximately 270,000 people forced into these practices and forced labor, affecting approximately 670,000 individuals. In the first case, prostitution, the phenomenon affects towns from Asia, Africa and Central Europe, often at the heart of true human trafficking, unknowingly entering into a system that takes away all dignity, often sold by their own families of origin because of extreme poverty. These people are at the base of the pyramid of one of the most prosperous industries, that of sex, which is in the hands of organized crime groups, and often is a branch of more extensive activities such as trade in drugs and arms up to the market for illegal emigration. It is a criminal economic system which is based on mechanisms well-oiled and that exploits synergies, even complex especially iron in the organization and method, to create economies of scale, particularly profitable, thanks to the connection and the contiguity of the areas of criminal market. Besides, even the part of forced labor, which, according to the International Labour Organisation, EU citizens concerns mainly, but also has high aims of Africans, especially in agriculture, is a successful economic model to those in the upper the organizational pyramid. The already mentioned agriculture, construction, domestic work and the manufacturing sector, the main areas where slavery is able to ensure high returns to criminal organizations, precisely because of a low cost of labor exerted in areas characterized by the absence of rules and rights. If the moral character that can not be the basis of the condemnation of the phenomenon, including that of an economic nature can not be underestimated: the first is fed a distorted market production that alters a crucial competition against companies that make the correct the basis of their work, according to the clandestine nature of work does not allow adequate control of the processing by the established, generating phenomena characterized by poor sanitation, such as the agri-food sector, or from structural defects in the construction industry. Very important is also the dimension that has reached the phenomenon of the request for alms and its related emergencies, such as the use of minors or people with physical or mental disability at the center of real speculation centered on their own disability. The danger of the current economic situation is that the phenomenon of slavery registers an increase in the recycling of money to invest in activities linked to it. Although EU member states have made some progress in combating the phenomenon of slavery, both in terms of legislative and operational, the data presented by the International Labour appears to be so substantial in the extent of its size to draw ‘attention to the need for a change in the approach to combating the phenomenon. Putting the problem of trafficking in human beings and their use forced on top of a common agenda provides in fact a necessity now mandatory, it comes to addressing the problem through a capillary organization is to control the movement of people, which for financial aspects of the phenomenon which may be traceable to the central governing the modern slavery. Delete this practice is not a human right also to have no legitimate reasons for non-European institution, and always ready in the front row for the defense of rights in the world, without which, unfortunately, unable to fully insure its territory.
